Moroni & Brother's on Georgia Avenue Serves Up Incredible Pizza at Reasonable Prices
Restaurants

When I first heard of Moroni & Brother's restaurant on Georgia Avenue, I was a tad bit skeptical.

Word on the street was that this small nook of a food joint served not only incredible wood-fire pizza, but also delicious Mexican and El Salvadorian fare.  In general, pizza and Latin American cuisine do not go together, but the claims were that at Moroni & Brother's, they made it work.

After eating there, I can testify that they do make it work.  And that's an understatement.

I tasted the basic cheese pizza and it was magnificent.  I would honestly go so far as to say it might be the best pizza I've had in the city.  The pizza was thin-crust style, and was smothered with really high quality cheese.

But the party in my mouth didn't end there.

I also got a whole fish that was also cooked in their wood-fire oven.  The fish was moist and the skin was crispy, and it was served with salad and rice.  The entire meal only ran me about 15 bucks, and I was stuffed at the end.

You have got to try Moroni & Brother's for yourself.

Metromix DC had this to say about Moroni & Brothers:

"Despite the name, Moroni & Brothers is actually run by a husband-and-wife team who learned pizza-making while working at popular Pizza Paradiso. Patrons can watch the process from classic dough-tossing in the air to bringing a finished pizza out of the wood-fire oven. In addition to pizza the restaurant also serves traditional Mexican and Salvadorian dishes, complimented by imported beer."
