Cleveland Park Library Wants Your Haiku Poetry

Debra Shumate, from the Cleveland Park Library is letting residents know that the library is in the midst of their Second Annual Haiku Poetry Contest which began on March 26 and runs through the close of business on Saturday, April 9. They have received lots of lovely poetry, but where is yours?

You are invited to enter an original Haiku poem, which will be posted in the library during the 2011 National Cherry Blossom Festival. To qualify, poems must follow the five-syllable, seven-syllable, five-syllable pattern. Prizes will be awarded for the best poem submitted in the adult, teen, and children's categories, and the winning poetry will be published on the Cleveland Park Library website. Winners will be announced on April 14. One entry per participant, please.

To pick up an entry form, stop by the Cleveland Park Library located at 3310 Connecticut Ave, NW, or give us a call at 202-282-3080 for more information.

This event is made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Cleveland Park Library.
