Aidan Design hosted a client appreciation night at Avery Fine Art

Nadia Subaran, co-owner of Aidan Design, hosted a client appreciation night at the home studio of Evelyn Avery of Avery Fine Art. Top interior designers and architects stopped by including Skip Sroka, Camille Saum, Caitlin Kinkead and Liz Spencer of Lori Graham Design, Anne Jaffe, Chris Snowber and Mike Rouse of Hamilton Snowber Architects, and Pierre Lazare from Fox Architects, as well as representatives from Potomac Lighting and Wood-Mode. Celebrating its 10th year in business and co-owned by John Schmiedigen, the award-winning Aidan Design offers kitchen and bathroom designs for residential spaces.

We are in the third quarter of the year. Are you reaching the goals you set? If you have not set them yet, now is a good time. 

In the past several weeks clients have wanted to focus on goal setting.  So whether I am brainstorming with them to come up with the goals or  they come to me with goals already set and need a partner to hold them accountable to endure successfully reaching them, this is perfect time to get going and pursue them.

Setting goals will make you feel more focused, give you more clarity and can get you the results you desire.  Make sure your actions are aligned with the goals you’re setting and take action steps to reach them. Take the time to internalize your achievement so that the goals set are not just about chase and conquer.

A group of young investors have taken an uncoventional approach towards their newest business venture.  

The group has launched WhatDCNeeds, a website specifically devoted to receiving suggestions from D.C. residents for what the new business should be.

Users can log onto the site and have their opinion be heard.

We asked some D.C. residents what kind of business they think the entrepreneurs should invest in.

In the last few months, Cleveland Park residents have been frantically posting about their beautiful blooming flowers being stolen from their yards and community garden plots.  One resident claims that over 50 of her peony blooms were stolen. This blossom burglary has been going on for quite some time now. Many residents have described a man carrying flowers—loose, unwrapped, and strikingly similar those stolen from the neighborhood.

It’s not every day that one gets an opportunity to celebrate a professional milestone at an ambassador’s residence, but Laura Lee Williams, owner of Laura Lee Designs, had the good fortune to do so when she celebrated five years at the helm of her handbag business at the home of Finnish Ambassador Pekka Lintu and his wife Laurel Colless.

“What an honor and gift to have the loveliest evening surrounded by advisors, supporters and dear friends,” says Williams. “The Finnish Ambassador and his wife Laurel Colless are supreme hosts and I couldn’t have asked for a better evening.”
