Chef Mike Isabella To Open Two Mediterranean Restaurants In 14th Street Corridor In Early 2013

D.C. foodies rejoice: Mike Isabella will open two new Mediterranean restaurants in early 2013.

The Top Chef All-Stars runner-up who launched Graffiato in Chinatown in 2011 announced today that he will open Kapnos and G next year.

The restaurants will be located next door to each other at 1326 W Street in Northwest.

Kapnos, which is Greek for smoke, will have a menu inspired by fare from Northern Greece featuring spreads, phyllo pies, and other small plates, as well as carved whole animals for dinner that will been spit-roasted during the day.  Kapnos will have two wood-fire grills with rotating spits and a wood oven for flat breads.  The restaurant will have 150 seats.
